118th -- Message On Overcoming Sin

I have heard from many people that are having problems with sin in their
life and in particular the sin of lust. After spending time in prayer, the
Lord led me to write a message on overcoming the sins of the flesh. I hope
this message will minister to those who are having trouble overcoming the
sin in their life and also teach them that they can break the cycle of sin
and be free through the power of Almighty God.

If you are having trouble overcoming some sin in your life, the first thing
you need to do is confront your problem and get it in your mind that you
will overcome and be victorious over the sin. Many people die in their
sins because they refused to admit their problem and correct the wrong
that was in their life. You are able to get every sin out of your life
and start fresh by the power and authority of Jesus Christ, so never think
it is too late for you to repent and start over. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

We should not think that God tempts us to see if we will sin, but rather we
fall short and sin when we take our eyes off God and focus on the worldly
things the enemy uses to entice us with, as we read in James 1:13-15 "Let
no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be
tempted with evil, neither tempteth He any man: But every man is tempted,
when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath
conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth
forth death." (Isaiah 26:3-4)

In order for us to stop committing the same sin, we need to renew our mind
and crucify our flesh daily where sin will not have any dominion in our
life. Renewing your mind is not learning something new; renewing your mind
is changing into something new. The Bible declares in Proverbs 23:7, as a
man thinks in his heart, so is he. You can go to church seven days a week
and be as spiritual as you like, but if you have not renewed your mind with
the Word of God and changed, then it is only a matter of time when those
old feelings of sin and lust start creeping around again. (Galatians 5:16-25)

I want you to know and keep it in your mind that you can overcome any sin
or short fall that is in your life. If you are addicted to smoking,
drinking or using drugs, God has given you the power and authority to
overcome and be victorious, but you must make up your mind and get it deep
in your spirit that you will quit today and have no tendencies to relapse.
Maybe your problem is with sex or pornography; you need to realize that
these are all sins of the flesh and can be overcome by the authority of
Jesus Christ, so never think you are beyond help.

If you have made Christ the center of your life then sin and temptation
should have no part in your daily living. Many of us who have been
Christians for years do not know the power that we have through Jesus
Christ and the enemy has used that ignorance for his advantage. We have
to start exercising our authority by casting down these temptations and
confessing with our mouth that we will not continue in sin, but we will
overcome and have the peace and joy that God wants for us to have.

Jesus said "
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to
destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it
more abundantly.
" God wants you to be complete and whole and has given us
His name and Word as a sword and shield to defeat the enemy and cancel
every plan that he has for your life. Jesus said "
Behold, I give you the
authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of
the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
" (John 10:10) (Luke 10:19)

I encourage you to make up your mind today and confess your sins to the
Lord and ask for His forgiveness. The Bible says, "If we confess our
sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness." After you have confessed your sins to the
Lord, make a confession of deliverance with your mouth and say, "I have
made up my mind and I confess with my mouth that I will not sin against my
Lord anymore. I bind and rebuke every spirit of alcohol, pornography and
bondage of drugs, in Jesus name Amen". (1 John 1:9) (James 5:15)

Be encouraged and praise God for His Forgiveness and know that this simple
prayer has power to move heaven on your behalf because Jesus declared,
Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound
in heaven: and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in
" You have the power of God within you and are able to defeat the
enemy through Christ our Lord, so you show yourself strong and know that
you Can do all things through Jesus Christ who gives you strength.
(Matthew 18:18) (Philippians 4:13)

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Romans 8:1-2 "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in
Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the
Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free
from the law of sin and death."

Romans 8:12-15 "Therefore, brethren, we are debtors-not to the flesh, to
live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you
will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you
will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons
of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but
you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, Abba, Father."

Psalm 121:1-5 "I will lift up my eyes to the hills-From whence comes my
help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not
allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He
who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade at your right hand."

All scriptures can be found in the New King James Version.

To God belongs all the Glory, Honor and Praise for His leading and
blessings upon this Ministry.
