1371st -- Room Brighteners

It is a great thing to be thought upon with fondness. When we go through life with purposeful intent on being a blessing to someone else, we are sowing seeds that will take root and bring a harvest that will testify of multiplied blessings on our behalf. Doing good without motive speaks volumes to our character, to our faith in the Lord and to our love for our fellow man. Many people confess to be Christians and yet they turn their back when a need arises. That should never be. We must not only talk the talk, but also walk our talk and show our good works so that all who look at our life may more importantly see the Lord working through us in bringing forth a blessing that will never be forgotten or erased from the hearts and minds of those whom we were privileged enough to cross paths with. (Luke 6:31-36) (1 John 3:14-18)

Doing good isn't a suggestion that God gives us, but rather it is a command. We read in Galatians 6:10 "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." Opportunity means when the chance arises. When the door opens for us to do something good we should take it. We shouldn't postpone, we shouldn't ponder and we shouldn't delay our response in doing something good that will elevate the life of another. We will be so proud of ourselves for taking the initiative when the opportunity came our way, and the Lord will smile down upon our intervention and bestow upon us the same blessings that we bestowed upon that one. That is the great thing about the Lord. He never forgets to return to us the blessings that we bestowed upon His children. (Galatians 6:2-4) (Luke 6:38)

Be encouraged to think about how your life may be used by the Lord. How can you be a Beacon of light to this world? How can your life bring hope to one that is in despair? Think of your life experiences. Think of the difficulties that you have overcome and try to impart your wisdom into someone else's life who is struggling in a similar way that you did. When we take the opportunity to be a blessing, our life will be significant in the hearts and minds of those who received goodness from us exactly when they needed it. It is at that time that we will be thankful that God found us worthy enough to be a part of His eternal work which is to bless, encourage, elevate, affirm, forgive and love all who come our way. Become a world changer my friend by first helping to change one life at a time. (Matthew 5:16) (Matthew 25:34-46)

I hope this message inspires and challenges your heart to do good, to bring blessings, to bring encouragement and to bring love with you everywhere you go.

ROOM BRIGHTENERS

My Mom was a real room brightener. I can remember as a child that every time she entered a room all the people in it would light up. She had a joyful and loving energy about her that traveled from person to person. Even people with their backs turned could feel it. No matter how quietly she would walk into a room they would turn around, grin, and move to greet her. Everyone just loved being around her. Her gentle humor and delightful smile gladdened every heart she touched. Her light filled soul made all those around her shine as well. Even during the last years of her life when cancer was destroying her body her spirit still glowed bright.

My Mom left me with a great appreciation for all the room brighteners in this world. I still see them everywhere. Some of them sparkle in the bodies of children. Others glow from behind ancient eyes. Some of them dance into a room with happy feet. Others shine from the confines of wheelchairs. Some of them dazzle us with their intelligence. Others brighten our souls with their love even when it is hidden behind disabled minds. This world is so much better because of them all. They show us what Heaven can feel like even while we are still here on Earth.

Henry David Thoreau said: "It is something to be able to paint a lovely picture, or carve a magnificent statue, but it is far more glorious to carve and paint the very atmosphere in which we live." That is what room brighteners do. That is what we all can do as well. We all have love to give, joy to share, and light to shine. We all can make this world a better place with our laughter, smiles, energy, and vitality. We all can grow in oneness with God and bring Heaven to Earth everyday of our lives. God didn't put us here to hide our light. God put us here to share it with the world. May you always shine your light then. May you always make every room you enter a little brighter.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

1 John 4:10-12 "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us."

1 Peter 3:10-12 "For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil."

Romans 15:1-4 "We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not Himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on Me. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope."

Philippians 4:8-9 "Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you."

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
