1503rd -- Adventures

We should never lose our zeal and sense of wonderment for life. So many times because of our disappointment in others we find ourselves jaded and untrusting when it comes to believing that goodness exists in humanity. What I have found to be true is that what we sow is exactly what we will reap. What we put out into the world will come back to us again one day. That is why I am always quick to offer love, affirmation, encouragement and to see the best in others so that they may be inspired and challenged to also see the best that is within themselves. We should always remember why we are on this earth. We are here to be an example of love, of life and of hope to a hurting and discouraged world. The Lord Jesus reminds us to be that Beacon of hope that others are drawn to as we read in Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and Praise your Father in Heaven.” (Galatians 6:1-10) (Luke 6:31)

When we come to the realization that all men have sinned and come short of the glory of God, the sooner we will place love at the center of our hearts knowing that nobody in this world is perfect and all are in need of being shown compassion, empathy, understanding and an overtly expression of welcoming so that others may know they can come to us when nobody else is welcoming towards them. By acting in this manner I believe we will help to heal hurts, mend hearts and help restore trust in that one’s heart letting them know that God loves them, wishes for them to be made whole and reminding them that He has a great plan for their life. (Romans 3:23)

None of us are beyond redemption, all of us are loved beyond our comprehension and when we use our simple life to create memories, start a conversation and simply be attentive to what others are going through, I believe we will make a difference that will never be forgotten or erased from their hearts or ours. May we be willing to raise our hands before the Lord saying with all humility and reverence “Here Am I, Send Me.” This simple prayer has worked for me for over 20 years and I know it will work for you too. (1 Peter 4:8-11)

I hope this message inspires and challenges your heart to go out of your way to be loving and caring towards others so that they may see your love and want to be a part of it.

ADVENTURES

Growing up in my grandmother's house as a boy was always an adventure when the relatives would visit. The food would be filled with extra garlic, parsley, and other spices. The smell of homemade bread and slow cooked tomato sauce would fill our noses with bliss. The dinner later would fill our stomachs with spaghetti and meatballs and our hearts with contentment as well. The air would be filled with Italian words both good and not so good. The talk would be excited and you always knew to sit a few feet away from those talking so that a hand gesture or waving arm didn't accidentally hit you in the face. There would be more laughter, more stories, and more jokes than you could keep track of. There would be more hugs, more tears, and also more smiles as well. It was always such a beautiful adventure in living. You could always feel the love and joy flowing from heart to heart and from soul to soul.

I wish the world had more adventures of this type. We all need more adventures that excite our hearts and nourish our souls. We all need more adventures in becoming the people that God meant for us to become. We all need more adventures in loving, laughing, giving, and caring. We all need to share more smiles together, more hugs together, and more tears together. We all need more family dinners. We all need more simple evenings filled with talk and togetherness. We all need to spend more time remembering how we are all one family put here by God to love each other and to share joy with each other.

I hope that all of your adventures are loving ones then. I hope that all of your adventures bring you closer to God. I hope that all of your adventures help you to share your heart's love and your soul's joy with your family, your friends, and the entire world.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Galatians 6:1-4 “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.”

1 John 3:16-18 “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.”

1 Corinthians 12:26-28 “And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.”

1 John 4:10-12 “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
