238th -- The Forest

In times of trouble and discouragement we need to remember that our God is
the God of comfort and strengthening. In Him there is peace that surpasses
all understanding and a Joy that can be found nowhere else. If you are
feeling discouraged because of life's challenges, I encourage you to call
upon the Lord and share with Him all that is on your heart. Nobody knows
you or understands you like God Almighty and He is the One who can calm
your heart and give you the encouragement to continue on with a renewed
vigor and determination. Never think that God is too busy to hear your cry.
He is a loving Father and will be there when you call upon Him.
(Philippians 4:6-7) (Psalm 34:17-19) (Isaiah 61:1-3)

There are moments in life when we feel as if we have lost direction and
need God's intervention to get back on the right track and this is what
today's story is about. I hope this message ministers to your heart to
always be quick to call upon the Lord if you have lost your way of direction.

THE FOREST

As I walked through the forest I began seeking a way out. It was very
difficult to see a way through the darkness that the tall trees created. I
tried climbing one of the trees for a better view, but the thatch and ivy
started so low in the trees that I could not see anything. I tried going
in one direction for a long time but never found any openings. It seemed
hopeless. There appeared to be no way out.

I slowly sank down against a tree and began to cry. I felt so lonely, so
lost, and so helpless. I don't know how much time passed before I heard
someone coming. I quickly arose and looked down the way. There came along
a man carrying a small pack. When I hailed him, he asked me if I was
hungry or thirsty. I suddenly realized that I was. He gave me something to
eat and drink, then asked me if I was looking for a way out. Somehow, he
knew exactly what I needed. He was so caring and kind and yet he didn't
even know me.

He began to lead me and we talked. As we did, slowly the hope and joy
began to flow in, as if I had found a new way. Before I knew it, we came
to a clearing at the edge of the forest where the sun shone brightly and
the day was beautiful. I thanked him and expected him to leave. To my
surprise, he told me that he would like to walk with me the rest of the
way. I accepted and off we went. There were more forests and dark times,
but they seemed different now as I had a friend and a guide to walk with
me every step of the way.

I encourage you to always think of the Lord as a loving Father who wishes
to increase your Joy and Happiness. It is true that our God is just and
will judge sin, but the thing that we need to remember is that once we
confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us of every sin and
cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Never allow anyone to condemn you or
make you feel as if you are without hope. As long as God is on the throne,
we all have hope and know that when we call upon the Lord, He is faithful
to hear and answer our hearts cry. Be encouraged in the Lord and know that
He loves you so very much. (John 10:10-11) (1 John 1:8-9) (Jeremiah 31:3)

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Jeremiah 29:11-14 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith
the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Then shall ye call upon Me, and ye shall go and pray unto Me, and I will
hearken unto you. And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search
for Me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the LORD…"

John 10:9-11 Jesus declares
"I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he
shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh
not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they
might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the
good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth His life for the sheep."

Jeremiah 1:4-5 "Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Before I
formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of
the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."

Psalm 94:16-19 "Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will
stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? Unless the LORD had been
my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. When I said, My foot
slippeth; Thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. In the multitude of my thoughts
within me Thy comforts delight my soul."

All scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.

I do give God all the Glory, Honor and Praise for the great things He is
doing with this ministry. God deserves all the credit because it is by His
spirit that we are blessed, encouraged, inspired and edified. I more than
anyone am surprised by our impact and I am grateful to the Lord for His
amazing grace in blessing this work that is founded under His name.
