240th -- Message On Jesus' Supremacy

There are many people in this world that question the supremacy of the
Lord Jesus Christ. It has been said by many non-believers that Jesus was
simply, "A good man and He was a good teacher, but He was in no way God
in flesh." As a Bible believing Christian, my faith and hope is totally
contrary to what these people think and believe. If Jesus Christ was simply
a good man or a good teacher, then Christianity in itself is built upon
lies and the more than 2 Billion Christians on this earth have no hope of
ever seeing heaven. Thankfully, no matter what people think or choose to
believe, Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God who was crucified on
a Cross for the sins of the world, and is now alive and sits at the right
hand of the Father ready to welcome all who trust in His name. (John 1:1-14)

We need to understand that God has given man a free will to either accept
God's gift of Salvation or reject this priceless gift. We have a free will
to believe Jesus or not believe Jesus, but that is not true concerning the
angels in Heaven and the demons in hell. They both know who Jesus is and
the power that only He possesses. (Luke 2:9-14) (Luke 4:40-41)

As I was reading my Bible, a specific story got my attention that I have
read many times before concerning the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I would like for you to read the story in it's entirety as it is written
in the New King James Version Bible.

Mark 5:1-20 (The numbers in the text refers to the Bible verses.)

Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the
Gadarenes. 2And when He had come out of the boat, immediately there met Him
out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, 3who had his dwelling among
the tombs; and no one could bind him, not even with chains, 4because he had
often been bound with shackles and chains. And the chains had been pulled
apart by him, and the shackles broken in pieces; neither could anyone tame
him. 5And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs,
crying out and cutting himself with stones. 6When he saw Jesus from afar,
he ran and worshiped Him. 7And he cried out with a loud voice and said,
"What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore
You by God that You do not torment me." 8For He said to him,
"Come out of
the man, unclean spirit!"

9Then He asked him,
"What is your name?" And he answered, saying, "My name
is Legion; for we are many." 10Also he begged Him earnestly that He would
not send them out of the country. 11Now a large herd of swine was feeding
there near the mountains. 12So all the demons begged Him, saying, "Send us
to the swine, that we may enter them." 13And at once Jesus gave them
permission. Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine (there
were about two thousand); and the herd ran violently down the steep place
into the sea, and drowned in the sea. 14So those who fed the swine fled,
and they told it in the city and in the country. And they went out to see
what it was that had happened.

15Then they came to Jesus, and saw the one who had been demon-possessed and
had the legion, sitting and clothed and in his right mind. And they were
afraid. 16And those who saw it told them how it happened to him who had
been demon-possessed, and about the swine. 17Then they began to plead with
Him to depart from their region. 18And when He got into the boat, he who
had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him. 19However,
Jesus did not permit him, but said to him,
"Go home to your friends, and
tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had
compassion on you."
20And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis
all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled.

This man that was demon possessed was very violent and no man could tame
him, but when the demon in this man saw Jesus afar off, the Bible says that
he bowed before Jesus and called Him the Son of the Most High God. Jesus'
supremacy can never be denied by the demons in hell because they know He
is the creator of heaven and earth and all that is within them. The Lord
Jesus Christ can never be rejected by the angels in heaven or the demons
in hell, but God has given mankind free will and leaves the decision up
to them whether to accept Christ or reject Christ. (Joshua 24:15)

If you are reading this message and have never accepted the Lord Jesus
Christ as your Lord and personal Savior, I encourage you to ask Him to come
into your heart and life today. He is the only way to God the Father.
There is no other way that one can enter heaven, besides the finished work
of the Lord Jesus Christ. In Him there is life and peace and hope. Never
allow anyone to tell you that Jesus was just a good man. He's the creator
of mankind and in His mercy became a man who was born of a virgin to save
all mankind that could not save themselves. (1 Timothy 2:1-6) (Acts 4:12)

Trust Jesus and only Jesus all the days of your life and know that because
you have given Him your life, you have a promise from the Lord Jesus Christ
that you have a home in Heaven and an eternity that is forever secured.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Isaiah 55:6-7 "Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon Him
while He is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man
his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and He will have mercy upon
him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon."

1 John 1:8-10 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and
the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say
that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us."

Romans 10:9-11 "…If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and
with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith,
Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed."

John 3:16-17 Jesus declares
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but
have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn
the world; but that the world through Him might be saved."
