4th -- The Diver

This is such a simple, yet powerful story. Every seed you sow in
witnessing the saving grace of Jesus does do its job. We read this in
Isaiah 55:11, "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it
shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I
please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

I hope you enjoy the story.

A young man who had been raised as an atheist was training to be an
Olympic diver. The only religious influence in his life came from his
outspoken Christian friend.

The young diver never really paid much attention to his friends sermons,
but he heard them often. One night the diver went to the indoor pool at
the college he attended. The lights were all off, but as the pool had big
skylights and the moon was bright, there was plenty of light to practice

The young man climbed up to the highest diving board and as he turned his
back to the pool on the edge of the board and extended his arms out, he
saw his shadow on the wall. The shadow of his body was in the shape of a
cross. Instead of diving, he knelt down and asked God to come into his
life. As the young man stood, a maintenance man walked in and turned the
lights on.

The pool had been drained for repairs.

Many people who don't know the Lord feel they have time to get "saved",
time to serve the Lord later, but want to have fun now. We never know
when our time on earth will end, so please make Jesus your Lord today if
you have not done so already.

Today is the day of Salvation, as we read in II Corinthians 6:2, "Behold,
now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." Be
encouraged friend in that spreading the gospel of Christ is the power unto
Salvation. It is not in our power that people make Jesus their Lord but
by God's spirit. Zechariah 4:6 "Not by might nor by power, but by my
Spirit, says the LORD Almighty."

Everlasting in Christ,
