533rd -- In Loving Arms

The love and thoughtfulness of God towards His children is without limits
and without end. The Bible says that nothing can separate us from the love
of God. This promise should keep our hearts comforted knowing that God
cares so much for us that He would be there to lift us up when we feel low
and cheer our spirits when discouragement comes our way. Rejoice in God's
love and see that you have much to be grateful for specifically for a love
that we do not deserve nor can ever earn. (Romans 8:35-39) (Jeremiah 31:3)

I hope you are encouraged and inspired by today's message to see that God's
love for you is pure and without motive. He is a friend that sticks closer
than a brother and will be there for you when you call upon His name in truth.

IN LOVING ARMS

Flipping through my old photo album today, which my mother had prepared of
my life years ago, I spotted one particular picture. It showed my dad
holding me close to his chest with his left arm when I was 9 months old.
My older sister and I were next to him outside in front of our little
frame house.

I realized in viewing this scene that in our hurried world today, we don't
have the quality of time to appreciate the little things to the fullest in
our lives. Many times we have no choice.

I just sat here, soaking up the picture before me. I saw in the background
the little house we lived in for 7 years. How huge it seemed to me when I
was 5! Anytime I became upset, I would run to our backyard. It appeared to
stretch for miles!

Nestled beneath a magnificent willow tree was my swing set. The cool shade
that the leaves provided was so refreshing. I'd jump on my swing and pump
my legs upward and focused on the fluffy, white clouds above. If I tilted
my head back just right, the sunlight seemed to wink back at me through
the willow tree. After hours of swinging, I would here my mother's call,
“come inside!”

46 years later, I now have these memories safely tucked securely in that
special compartment that wraps itself warmly around my mind. I have no
doubt of my dad's love. His strong arm held me in his loving embrace. As
mother and grandmother I've done the same with my loved ones.

With stark reality, it occurred to me that I know for certain that my
Heavenly Father desires to hold me close to Himself and whispers His words
of love into my ear. He wants to keep me safe and secure and close to His
chest if I will trust my life in His arms of Love.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

1 John 4:10-12 “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved
us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God
so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at
any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is
perfected in us.”

Proverbs 4:20-23 “My son, attend to My words; incline thine ear unto My
sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of
thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all
their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the
issues of life.”

Jeremiah 31:3 “The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have
loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I
drawn thee.”

Psalm 91:14-16 “Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I
deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My Name. He
shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and
shew him My salvation.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
