583rd -- Do You Recognize Him?

The greatest blessing that we can possess is to have the presence of God in
our lives. The Lord wishes to be with us at all times to lead and guide us
and minister His grace to us when we feel down or discouraged. The Lord is
not bothered by our requests for intervention, but rather is pleased when
we proclaim our weakness and dependency upon Him. The Bible declares in
Hebrews 4:15-16 “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched
with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as
we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of
grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
Be encouraged to call upon the Lord sharing with Him all that is on your
heart and know that He will be with you in your time of need. (Psalm 46:1-3)

I hope today's message encourages your heart to trust that God is with you
and will never leave your side.

DO YOU RECOGNIZE HIM?

The story is told of a woman who arrived at heaven's gate after her long
anticipated wait on earth and finally stood to meet Jesus face to face. As
He reviewed her life, she could see every event just as clearly as if it
were happening right then and there.

Her birth, wedding and first child were among the scenes playing out before
her. Then the scenes turned to difficult situations of lying, deceiving and
impurity. All of it was set before her.

Then looking at a time in her life filled with sorrow, she asked Jesus a
question that had long been on her heart:

“Look at my time of greatest trouble. I prayed and prayed but I heard no
word from you. I would have despaired had it not been for all the people
who helped me: the friends who listened and consoled, who brought me food
and understanding, who cried with me and stood by me, and my family who
gave me a reason to go on living. But why did you abandon me? Why didn't
you help me?”

“My child” Jesus answered, “Why didn't you recognize Me?”

Psalm 118:6 declares “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can
man do unto me?” Remember this verse of scripture the next time the enemy
comes to you with thoughts of fear and worry.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

2 Chronicles 20:15 “...Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor
dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours,
but God's.”

Psalm 91:1-4 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall
abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my
refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust. Surely He shall
deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou
trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.”

Joshua 1:9 “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be
not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee
whithersoever thou goest.”

Psalm 91:14-16 “Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I
deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name. He
shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and
shew him My salvation.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
