The Twenty-Third Psalm

The Lord is my Shepherd,
"My sheep hear My voice" (John 10:27).

I shall not want.
"No good thing will He [God] withhold" (Psalm 84:11).

He makes me lie down in green pastures;
...entered into His rest" (Hebrews 4:10).

He leads me beside still waters;
"Peace I [Jesus] leave with you" (John 14:27)

He restores my soul.
"Restore to me the joy of Your salvation" (Psalm 51:12).

He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
"In righteousness, you will be established" (Isaiah 54:14).

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
"Be strong and of a good courage, fear not . . . for the Lord
your God goes with you" (Deuteronomy 31:6).

I will fear no evil,
"There shall no evil befall you" (Psalm 91:10).

For you are with me;
"He [God] will be with you, He will not fail you, neither forsake
you; fear not neither be dismayed" (Deuteronomy 31:8).

Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father
of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our
tribulation" (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

You prepare a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.
"Glory and honor are in His presence, strength and gladness are in
His place" (1 Chronicles 16:27).

You anoint my head with oil.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed
us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3).

My cup runs over.
"They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of Your house and
You will make them drink of the river of Your pleasures" (Psalm 36:8).

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
"The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble and He knows those
that trust in Him" (Nahum 1:7).

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
"One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may
dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the
beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple" (Psalm 27:4).
