29th -- How Rich Are You

Whenever I feel down or not in the right spirit, I think of
Psalm 118:24 "This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will
rejoice and be glad in it." If God is on my side then why should
I let the enemy get me down or make me think that I am not loved
by God. I encourage you to take on this mentality when the enemy
comes to you with negative thoughts and perversions. Jesus is Lord
and He is in control of every situation, so rejoice and be
exceedingly glad, for you have the victory already won. All you
have to do is claim it.

This is a good story that shows me that it is not in riches that I can be
happy and content but it is more in the spiritual realm. I believe when
God created us, He left a small area in our hearts only for Him, that
nothing can fill and will remain void until we realize that only God and a
personal relationship with Jesus Christ, can this void be filled and
therefore have true happiness and contentment.

I hope you enjoy the story

HOW RICH ARE YOU

One day a father and his rich family took his young son on a trip to the
country with the firm purpose to show him how poor people can be. They
spent a day and a night in the farm of a very poor family. When they got
back from their trip the father asked his son,

"How was the trip?"

"Very good, Dad!"

"Did you see how poor people can be?" the father asked.

"Yeah!"

"And what did you learn?"

The son answered, "I saw that we have a dog at home, and they have four.
We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden, they have a creek
that has no end. We have imported lamps in the garden, they have the
stars. Our patio reaches to the front yard, they have a whole horizon."

When the little boy was finishing, his father was speechless. His son
added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are!"

Isn't it true that it all depends on the way you look at things? If you
have love, friends, family, health, good humor and a positive attitude
towards life - you've got everything! You can't buy any of these things.
You can have all the material possessions you can imagine, provisions for
the future, etc., but if you are poor of spirit, you have nothing!

There are many celebrities that are rich and famous and have all the
luxuries the world has to offer, but there is still no happiness and no
true meaning to their life. I sometimes wish that when I speak to people
about the Lord that they could see my heart before I knew Jesus as my Lord
and now after I have given Him my life and received Jesus as Savior and
Lord. There would not be a person that could deny the changes that have
taken place and hence would likewise welcome the Lord into their life. I
encourage you to be a witness to others of what the Lord has done for you
that they will see the changes and be anxious to know who has done
these things for you.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Matthew 5:14-16 "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an
hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a
bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the
house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good
works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." KJV

Matthew 6:19-21 "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where
moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But
lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust
doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where
your treasure is, there will your heart be also." KJV

To God be the Glory for the things He has done.
