328th -- What Does Love Mean?

In this life that we are living, it is important that we invest our love
in others. It is easy for us to be lazy and not let those around us know
how we truly feel about them, but in this day of unpredictability, we might
never know when our last chance of telling our loved ones that we love them
will be. It's important that we love people because God commands it and I
agree, but I believe that we are to tell our friends and family that we
love them because they might not know or feel that we truly do.
(James 4:13-15) (Galatians 6:1-4) (John 15:16-17) (Hebrews 13:1)

We are to have perfect love towards one another just as God has towards us.
Perfect love is not associated with being good or deserving to be loved,
but rather perfect love is defined as such because it does not depend on
any of those things. Be encouraged to share the love that you have with
others so that they may know how you truly feel about them. (1 John 4:18-21)

I hope today's simple message on Love ministers to your spirit to be open
in sharing the love that is in your heart with those around you.

WHAT DOES LOVE MEAN?

A group of professionals posed the question "What does love mean?" to a
group of 4 - 8 year-olds and the answers they got were broader and deeper
than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her
toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even
when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."

"Love is when someone hurts you and you get so mad, but you don't yell at
them because you know it would hurt their feelings."

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."

"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing,
you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and daddy are
like that. They look gross when they kiss."

"When you tell someone something bad about yourself and you're scared they
won't love you anymore. But then you get surprised because not only do
they still love you, they love you even more."

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday."

"My Mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing
me to sleep at night."

"Love is when Mommy gives daddy the best piece of chicken."

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."

"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes
and has to go out and buy new ones."

"I let my big sister pick on me because my Mom says she only picks on me
because she loves me. So I pick on my baby sister because I love her."

"Love cards like Valentine's cards say stuff on them that we'd like to say
ourselves, but we wouldn't be caught dead saying."

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you
mean it, you should say it alot. People forget."

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

1 John 4:18-21 "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out
fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in
love. We love Him, because He first loved us. If a man say, I love God,
and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother
whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this
commandment have we from Him, That he who loveth God love his brother also."

Romans 12:9-10 "Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is
evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another
with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another."

Hebrews 13:1-3 "Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain
strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Remember
them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity
as being yourselves also in the body."

1 John 4:10-12 "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved
us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God
so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at
any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is
perfected in us."

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
