69th -- Embroidery

We sometimes do go through things in life that we do not understand and
wish that God would deliver us from that situation, but we need to
remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our
thoughts. He has a very big plan for your life so no matter how tough
things may get for you, stay faithful and you will see God deliver you and
make you stronger then you ever were before.

This is a good story that shows that even though we may have problems in
life that we need to overcome; God will use for His purpose to make us
stronger and in the end will work to magnify and glorify God.

EMBROIDERY

When I was a little boy, my mother used to embroider a great deal. I would
sit at her knee and look up from the floor and ask what she was doing. She
informed me that she was embroidering. I told her that it looked like a
mess from where I was sitting, which was the underside. I watched her work
within the boundaries of the little round hoop that she held in her hand.

She would smile at me, look down and gently say, "My son, you go about
your playing for a while, and when I am finished with my embroidering, I
will put you on my knee and let you see it from my side."

I would wonder why she was using some dark threads along with the light
ones and why they seemed so jumbled from my view. A few minutes would pass
and then I would hear Mother's voice say, "Son, come and sit on my knee."

This I did, only to be surprised and thrilled to see a beautiful flower or
a sunset. I could not believe it, because from underneath it looked so
messy.

Then Mother would say to me, "My son, from underneath it did look messy
and jumbled, but you did not realize that there was a pre-drawn plan on
the top. It was a design. I was only following it. Now look at it from my
side and you will see what I was doing."

Many times through the years I have looked up to my Heavenly Father and
said, "Father, what are You doing?" He has answered, "I am embroidering
your life." I say, "But it looks like a mess to me. It seems so jumbled.
The threads seem so dark. Why can't they all be bright?" The Father seems
to tell me, "My child, you go about your business of doing My business,
and one day I will bring you to Heaven and put you on My knee and you will
see the plan from My side."

We do not always see the big picture for our lives and so we need to keep
in mind that God is in control and He will use every good and bad thing in
our life to make us stronger and in turn more useful to do His work.

Even though we face problems in life, let us stay faithful and true to the
Lord. Always remember that God is a giver of good and perfect gifts and
even though the enemy will cause us trouble or heartache, God will turn it
around and use it for His good. (Romans 8:28)

I encourage you to never think that just because you have made mistakes in
life that God will not forgive you or use you to minister to others. God
is a forgiving and forgetting God (Isaiah 43:25). Once we come to Him in
repentance, God is faithful and just to forgive us from all iniquity
(Titus 2:14) and make us pure, just as He is pure.

Stay faithful and one day we will see how God shaped and used our life for
His purpose and will hear those glorious words "Well done, thou good and
faithful servant."

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

2 Corinthians 4:17 "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment,
worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory."

1 Peter 1:7 "That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than
of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto
praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ."

Psalm 5:11-12 "But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let
them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that
love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, LORD, wilt bless the
righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield."

Luke 6:20-23 Jesus says "…Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of
God. Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are
ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. Blessed are ye, when men shall hate
you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall
reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is
great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the
prophets."

Psalm 104:31-33 "The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD
shall rejoice in his works. He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he
toucheth the hills, and they smoke. I will sing unto the LORD as long as I
live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being."

All scriptures can be found in the King James Version.
